How Botulinum Toxin A works

In simple terms, when Botulinum Toxin A is injected into the muscle, it causes the muscle to relax so it can no longer contract. Wrinkles are caused by the repetitive creasing of the skin, such as that of the vertical frown line caused from repetitive frowning or squinting. This wrinkling in the glabellar area is associated with anger, anxiety and sadness, all negative emotions. This is certainly one muscle and emotional expression that anyone can do without. The objective of this treatment is to weaken or relax this tiny muscle and hence reduce the crease making you look serene and relaxed. It also placed strategically to reduce the size of large muscle mass like the masseters to slim the facial outline.
