Facial Veins that are red are unsightly and blemish the smooth tone of facial skin. They are not necessary for the health of the skin and to remove them for cosmetic reasons we need to work out a way of destroying them without causing damage to the surrounding skin. There are three methods for doing this -
Lasers and the FotofacialRF
A laser light is flashed on to the skin. The light scatters and is of such a specific wavelength that it converts to heat energy where there is red pigment, hence selectively cauterising the veins. The FotofacialRF is a a procedure performed by a machine similar to the Aurora Elos system. It is excellent for removing very fine veins and helping facial flushesAll the above methods are associated with some discomfort but most people will find this tolerable for the short time it takes. We have anaesthetic cream available to ease this discomfort. Please come 1/2 hour earlier for your appointment and we can place anaesthetic cream thickly on the skin.
All the above methods should give visible results with one treatment but all methods give better results when repeated. There may still be some veins present however this is considered to have 100% success.
